Thundar file manager

Most personal configuration settings are in plain text files in your home directory. Is there a utility that allows me - systemwide - to attach keypresses to programs or scripts? There are various pages which advise to use a cron job to regularly empty the wastebasket but that seems like overkill. If I press I want to delete and not move files to a wastebasket. I hope I am wrong but so far my googling has not led me to a page which explains how to copy Thunar configuration between machines.Īnother thing: it seems impossible to disable the XFCE wastebasket.

Alas, Thunar seems to use something called xfconf as its config storage mechanism and this, to my untutored eye, looks pretty opaque. I had hoped that, by leaving Windows behind, I would also leave behind opaque config files, registries and the like.

I have tried to find out how to copy various bits of configuration between systems and I have real trouble to find out where Thunar keeps its configuration.

I have so far 'played' with MX-15 in a VM but I will now install it on real metal.
